Who wouldn’t love the thought of a white picket fence, a front porch with white wicker chairs and a huge weeping willow in the front yard?  We can dream, right??  Although not all of us are able to say we live in a farmhouse , we can definitely make our home feel like one.  Simply add accents and some lavender candles and wala!  Its a farmhouse retreat:)  Here are some of my favorite finds of the week.

White Accents

Nothing says farmhouse, like the color white.  Add white dishes, ceramic pitchers, tablecloths, figurines, etc to give your space a farmhouse make over.

Add a mirror over your fireplace.

White pitchers are perfect for wild flowers or a few beautiful hydrangeas.

I LOVE this bunny by Piper Classics!  Fun addition to a book shelf, side coffee table or center piece.

Floating Shelves

Floating shelves in the kitchen look so beautiful layers with white dishes, flower pots and vintage accents.

White dishes with coffee cups add crisp charm to your floating shelves.  Sprinkle wth some   unique items such as a scale clock or a spool of twine.  I love these bunny bowls sold at Painted Fox Homes.

Farmhouse Wall Decor

Adding signs to a shelf or on you favorite wall add life to any room.

Check out the links below to visit the Etsy Shops that sell these signs.  Did I mention I LOVE Etsy!  So many beautiful things to choose from!

My Green Gable Life

Welcome to My Green Gable Life!  Anne of Green Gables is the inspiration for my blog. Life was simple, quaint, and timeless.  It was an era when innocence was cherished and simplicity was celebrated.  My hope for this blog is to write about the things I love which includes gardening on a sunny day, stenciling a new sign for my home and finding DIY projects to do with my little lady and my little guy.

I have never thought of myself as a writer, so writing this blog is for sure a step out of my comfort zone.  BUT the other day I was thinking about the things that I really love.  What would be a job that I would wake up eager to start?  Something that would fulfill my life and make me a better mommy and wife.  The soul searching began and then…. it hit me!  Pinterest! I love Pinterest!  I can spend hours looking at pictures, reading articles and getting inspired by DIY projects!  Why not try creating the pins instead of just repining?  I enjoy shopping at craft and home improvement stores and I think I’m a pretty creative, roll up your sleeves type of gal.  So here I go and I hope you will join me on my journey to DIY projects, home decor inspirations and simple living!
